A silly project with no deeper meaning, I was inspired by the brilliant game “DiRT”‘s menu. Unfortunately, I still can’t figure out how to give it that “dirty” look they do so well. (I noticed they brought it over into the GRID engine as well. Actually, I wonder if the entire engine is the same…) The hard part was making up random words. it’s harder than you think…

Another parking lot

The second of three (Interestingly enough, the third was blogged first because I lost the other two) of the parking lot exposures. Entitled “Comet” because the large orange comet looking thing in the corner. Kind of obvious.

Another long exposure

What a huge file. Took forever to upload. Back when I was using high resolutions for pictures, before I realized they were big and hard to deal with.

Thanks to Emily, I now have the Winnipeg CD back in possession and will post two more of the “long exposure of lights in a parking lot as seen from a moving van at night” series. All taken with one second exposures of various lights in downtown Winnipeg.

Pending on people’s suggestions, I’m also including the date and important info in all posts.

April 9th, 2007, 6:47:23 PM (My camera was still in “our” time, even though we were really in Manitoba time)   1 second exposure.

Is it a cube? or a bunch of cylinders?

Is it really a cube? Or is it a bunch of cylinders cut out to look like a cube? Either way, it’s shiny.

Inspiration from a gallery in Nelson B.C where they had one made of logs and branches cut in this way. I learned a lot about boolean operators in Blender with this project. A good long render time for the glossy reflections too. 2.46 (for the gloss)

I’ll have to make a new one to get rid of that ugly line in the background (where my “floor” ends and the shadows stop.) Too lazy though, and new projects came up.)

EDIT: As of a few days ago, this picture also adorns the top title banner. I’m hoping to choose new ones every so often.

a test battery for a secret project

A concept art for a secret battery project. Render without AA pass, so artifacts do occur.  The aluminum shinyness/reflection turned out well, I think.

a wierd green thing.

After viewing galleries of similar 3D art, I was inspired to make my own. Also comes in a variety of colours. DoF was done is Blender 2.44 (2.46 has issues, for some reason)

A simple glass thing.

Just a bored Blender day, produced something pretty neat. Works well for the xbox 360 dashboard background. There is also a ceramic white version, and maybe more to come… (maybe if you suggest them in the comments…)

Where Am I?
